Bespoke Modular Enclosure with Control Room - Pillswood Battery Storage Facility

Pillswood Battery Storage Facility is connected via Creyke Beck Substation to Dogger Bank Wind Farm, the world’s largest offshore wind farm. At its launch, Pillswood was Europe’s highest capacity battery storage facility at 196 MWh, capable of powering 300,000 homes for 2 hours.

Overview

ADE Power UK designed and manufactured a bespoke 16m long modular enclosure containing a control room (fitted out with relay protection panels, communication panels, and SCADA panels) and a 132/33 kV switchroom (fitted out with 3 main switchgear panels). Besides the main equipment, the enclosure was also fitted out with small light and power including internal and external lighting, heating, air conditioning/cooling systems, ventilations systems, and fire detection/alarm systems.
