The Plutonic Gold Mine Power Station in the remote WA mining region operates on pipeline natural gas to supply power to its mining operation

Overview
The Plutonic Gold Mine islanded power station (800km north-east of Perth) provides power for the entire mine site, including underground operations and processing plant. This brownfield EPC plus O&M project delivered a complete power infrastructure upgrade at an operating mine:- new gas and diesel generation assets, 11kV cabling, HV/LV switchroom, substation, and earthing system. This was delivered while maintaining continuous operations. HVE also recommissioned existing gas generators, adding 6MW backup capacity.
Since assuming operation of the station following the previous IPP arrangement, Catalyst Metals has delivered significant cost reductions and materially improved reliability. HVE continues to provide ongoing operations and maintenance, underscoring our commitment to safe, reliable, and long-term performance.
